About ECHO & ECHOs in Ontario

About ECHO
ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a lifelong learning and guided practice model that revolutionizes medical education and exponentially increases workforce capacity to provide best-practice specialty care and reduce health disparities.
ECHO supports and empowers healthcare providers to care for their patients with complex conditions. It connects healthcare providers with interprofessional specialist teams for interactive learning via videoconferencing. ECHO is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

It aims to improve patient care by enhancing and supporting healthcare providers’ knowledge. This provides patients with faster access to the right care, closer to home.

The goal of ECHO Ontario is to create a supportive learning community of healthcare providers, to enhance their skills and confidence in managing complex chronic conditions safely and effectively.
